Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee

I discovered this web series on Crackle.com.  It combines Jerry Seinfeld, classic cars, and conversation.  It allows me to pretend I'm as urbane and amusing as I think I am.  This one, with Alec Baldwin, is my favorite.

Alec Baldwin, to me has transformed from a morose and spoiled liberal, to an intelligent, left-of-me persona thanks to his role as Jack Donaghy on NBC's 30 Rock, and more notably thanks to his great podcast "Here's The Thing" from WNYC public radio.  People think I have a man-crush on him.  They're not wrong.

Welcome back!!! Good to see you posting again.

This is a great series, I'm going to look into it. I started really liking AB after he played that lawyer in the movie with Steve Martin. He just kills me. He just has that funny look.

Well thank you Mr. Lane! It's been a busy summer, but life is Epic here.

I've been enjoying your Paris series!

Alec Baldwin's lefty tendencies put him right in Karl Marx's ballpark, am I right?

Pillar of Autum: comparisons to a deceased and defunct political philosopher who never witnessed life beyond the industrial revolution and wouldn't understand the information revolution and global economy, much less northern hemi/southern hemi geopolitics are somewhat useless now. Marx is so irrelevant today that he is unworthy of further mention.

Other than to say Mr. Baldwin would probably appreciate the comparison.

That said, listen to Mr. Baldwin's "Here's the Thing" series. He has some very interesting interviews with right wingers like George F. Will, Ed Rollins, and Joseph Stiglitz. He's much more open minded and less irritating than he was in the 90s.

"**** you, Stephen! Get back here!"
Baldwin is beyond brilliant. And while not all of his interviews have come off well (case in point, Michael Douglas), Here's the Thing has been a hit. Especially here in NYC.

I'm with him on the running out of time thing. I once told a really obnoxious 30 yr old that in 25 yrs he would be my age and in 25 yrs I would be dead. Which was why I didn't have the time to waste being his friend. I don't think he got it but he doesn't text me as much as he did.

Tintin, an honor to have you around. For you, I will dispense with the use of dingbats in place of curse words. Feel free to say "fuck" all you want around here.

I don't know, I thought the Douglas interview was pretty good, but I couldn't get the image out of my head that he was being interviewed while sitting in his boxers, hunched over a bowl of matzoh ball soup.

Ive watched this video 6 x and still can't stop laughing at the last line.

I thought Rollins was a hoot. I ran into Douglas at the Four Seaons during lunch. I was having a martini with my lunch and he looked me like I was stirring it with my dick. Fuck you, Michael! Michael...Get back here!
